Pressed for Thought is a blog devoted to working on developing the connections between food, wine, and the philosophical and literary. As an English Professor, who also owns a wine and cheese shop, I am often struck by the intersections of the sensory experience of food and wine and the intellectulaization of those experiences. Ultimately, it comes down to communicating the beauty of that experience, and I do so with words; so, I will write about it here, and I hope that you will find some things that interest you. I am not suggesting that we take this all too seriously, but that we pause and think about what we enjoy and the conditions for that joy, be in that moment of pleasure without interruption, and then share it. That, I hope, inspires one to new experiences, and food & wine can bring us there.
